1. About these Terms

In short: These Terms are a legal agreement between you and Drroo. By creating an account or booking a trip, you accept them — so please read them alongside our Privacy Policy.

Welcome to Drroo! These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our apps, our website at drroo.in and every service offered through them — from a bike taxi to work to a parcel across town.

They’re a binding agreement between you and Manju Wellness LLP, a limited liability partnership registered under the Limited Liability Partnership Act, 2008, whose registered office is at 8b 57b, 1st Avenue, Ashok Nagar, Chennai, Tamil Nadu 600083 (“Drroo”, “we” or “us”). By creating an account or booking a trip, you confirm that you’ve read and accepted these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Drroo.

1.1 Who these Terms apply to

Everyone who uses Drroo — riders, senders, recipients and visitors. Captains also agree to the separate Drroo Captain Terms, which prevail on matters that concern only captains.

1.2 Documents that form part of these Terms

  • Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which explain how we handle personal data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
  • Fare cards, offer terms and other rules shown in the App before you book, which prevail for that service if they conflict with these Terms.

1.3 An electronic agreement

These Terms are an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000, published in accordance with rule 3(1) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 (the “IT Rules”). They need no signature: tapping “Agree” or “Book” is your acceptance.

2. Definitions

In short: A few words have a specific meaning in these Terms. Here’s exactly what we mean by them.

In these Terms, “including” means “including without limitation”, headings are for convenience only, and:

App
The Drroo app for Android and iOS, and any other interface we provide for booking.
Platform
The App, our website at drroo.in, and the technology behind them.
Services
Drroo Moto, Auto, Mini, Prime, XL, Send, Rentals and Outstation. What’s available varies from city to city.
Captain
An independent driver or rider, verified by Drroo, who offers rides or deliveries through the Drroo Captain app. Captains are not Drroo’s employees or agents.
Trip
A single ride or delivery, from the moment a captain accepts it until it’s completed or cancelled.
Upfront fare
The total fare, including taxes, shown in the App before you confirm a booking.
Ride PIN
The 4-digit code your captain must enter to start your trip. Drroo Send uses a delivery PIN at drop-off.
Business day
A day on which banks in Chennai are open for general business.

3. Eligibility and your account

In short: You must be 18 or over to have a Drroo account. Keep your details accurate and your login private — you’re responsible for what happens on your account.

3.1 Who can use Drroo

You must be at least 18 and competent to contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872. Children may ride only with a parent or guardian who books the trip from their own account and travels with them — so Drroo Moto, which carries a single rider, can’t be booked for a child (see Children’s privacy). If we’ve closed your account for breaking these Terms, please don’t open a new one without our written permission.

3.2 Your account

You sign up with an Indian mobile number verified by one-time password (OTP), and agree to keep your details accurate. Accounts are personal — one per person — and can’t be sold, transferred or shared. You’re responsible for activity on your account, so keep your phone and OTPs to yourself, and tell us at support@drroo.in straight away if someone else may have used it.

Watch out for fraud: Drroo will never ask for your OTP, UPI PIN, card PIN or CVV — not by phone, SMS, email or chat. Anyone who asks is not from Drroo.

3.3 Booking for someone else

You can book rides and deliveries for family and friends. You’re then responsible for paying, for sharing the Ride PIN with them securely and for making sure they follow these Terms. Please share their details only if they’re comfortable with it (see our Privacy Policy).

4. What Drroo does (and doesn’t do)

In short: Drroo is a technology platform that connects you with independent, verified captains. The captain provides your ride or delivery; we set the standards, run the safety tools and stand behind the experience.

Drroo lets you find, book and pay for rides and deliveries offered by independent captains. The contract for the ride or delivery itself is between you and your captain. Drroo acts as an intermediary under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and as a marketplace e-commerce entity under the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020.

4.1 What we do

  • Match you with a nearby captain, showing your upfront fare and their name, photo, vehicle number and rating before the trip.
  • Verify every captain before they go online (see section 14).
  • Provide safety tools, a 24×7 safety desk, support and grievance redressal.
  • Arrange accident insurance on every trip (see section 12).

4.2 What we don’t do

We don’t own or operate the vehicles on Drroo or employ captains, and we’re not a transport operator — or, for Drroo Send, a courier or common carrier under the Carriage by Road Act, 2007.

4.3 Licences and local rules

Where a state requires it, Drroo holds an aggregator licence under section 93 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and follows the Motor Vehicle Aggregator Guidelines as adopted by that state. Rules vary across our 40+ cities — especially for bike taxis — so some services may be unavailable or paused in places.

5. Booking rides and deliveries

In short: Choose a service, check the upfront fare and confirm. Your trip starts only when your captain enters your Ride PIN.

5.1 How a booking works

  1. Set your drop. The App suggests the fastest pickup point nearby.
  2. Pick your ride. Compare upfront fares and pickup times, then confirm.
  3. Track your captain. See their details and live location once they accept.
  4. Share your Ride PIN. Check the vehicle number first; the trip starts only when your captain enters your PIN.
  5. Pay and rate. Pay at the drop if you chose cash, and rate your trip in a tap.

A booking is confirmed only when a captain accepts it. We may cancel a booking we reasonably believe breaks these Terms or the law.

5.2 Service rules

  • Drroo Moto carries one rider and a small bag. Wear the helmet your captain provides for the whole ride, as section 129 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 requires (Sikh riders wearing a turban are exempt) — or bring your own ISI-marked one.
  • Drroo Auto carries up to 3 riders; Mini (AC hatchback) and Prime (AC sedan) up to 4; and XL (AC SUV) up to 6. Luggage must fit safely, and seat belts are a must, front and back.
  • Drroo Send, Rentals and Outstation have extra rules in section 10 and section 11.

Captains may refuse trips that would overload the vehicle or involve anything unsafe or illegal. Pets are welcome in cabs at your captain’s discretion — please ask first.

5.3 Changes and scheduled trips

Add a stop or change your drop mid-trip, and the fare is recalculated in the App. Outstation, Rentals and cabs in select cities can be booked ahead; if we can’t find a captain for a scheduled trip, we’ll tell you early and you won’t be charged.

5.4 Lost and found

Left something behind? Tap Report a lost item on the trip, and we’ll connect you with your captain over a masked call. Captains aren’t responsible for lost belongings, but most are glad to help. If yours brings the item back, you pay the fare for that return trip, shown upfront.

6. Fares, taxes and payments

In short: You see the full fare before you book, and that’s what you pay — unless you change the trip or waiting charges apply. Busy-time pricing is capped at 1.5×. Pay by UPI, card, Drroo Wallet or cash.

6.1 Upfront fares

Your upfront fare is based on a base fare, the estimated distance and time, the service you choose, demand at that moment and applicable taxes, minus any discount. Once you confirm, it’s locked in, even if traffic turns out worse than expected.

Starting fares, including taxes
ServiceFares fromVehicleSeats or load
Drroo Moto₹25Bike taxi, helmet provided1 rider
Drroo Auto₹30Auto-rickshawUp to 3
Drroo Mini₹79AC hatchbackUp to 4
Drroo Prime₹119AC sedanUp to 4
Drroo XL₹189AC SUVUp to 6
Drroo Send₹39Two-wheeler, same-day deliveryParcels up to 20 kg
Drroo Rentals₹299 for 2 hr / 20 kmCab and captain, by the hour4 or 6, by car
Drroo Outstation₹11 per kmCab, one-way or round trip4 or 6, by car

6.2 When the fare can change

Your upfront fare changes only if:

  • you add a stop, change your drop or ask for a different route;
  • you ask for a toll road, paid parking or airport entry that wasn’t in the original fare — these are charged at actuals;
  • waiting charges apply (see section 8); or
  • a Rentals or Outstation trip goes beyond its package distance or time (see section 11).

Any new fare is shown in the App before you pay, with a full breakdown on your invoice.

6.3 Busy-time pricing, capped at 1.5×

When demand outstrips available captains — Monday morning in the monsoon, say — fares may rise to bring more captains online. On Drroo, this multiplier never goes above 1.5× the standard fare, stays within the Motor Vehicle Aggregator Guidelines and state rules, and is always shown before you book.

We don’t use drip pricing or any other dark pattern listed in the Central Consumer Protection Authority’s Guidelines for Prevention and Regulation of Dark Patterns, 2023.

6.4 Paying, taxes and invoices

  • Ways to pay: UPI, debit and credit cards, Drroo Wallet, or cash to your captain at the drop. Cash isn’t offered for every booking.
  • Cards: saved cards are tokenised as the Reserve Bank of India requires, so we never store your full card number.
  • Taxes and invoices: fares include applicable taxes, such as GST. Invoices are issued on behalf of your captain and kept in the App.
  • Where your money goes: digital payments are processed by banks and RBI-authorised payment aggregators. Drroo collects them on your captain’s behalf and passes on 100% of the fare (see section 14).

6.5 Tips, dues and fare reviews

Tips are optional, and every rupee goes to your captain. A failed digital payment stays due until it’s cleared. Think you were overcharged? Tap Help on the trip within 30 days, and we’ll check the route, GPS data and timings, and refund any overcharge.

7. Drroo Wallet, offers and referrals

In short: Drroo Wallet is a prepaid balance for paying on Drroo, and refunds land there instantly. Offers and referral rewards come with their own conditions and have no cash value.

7.1 Drroo Wallet

  • Your wallet can be used only to pay on Drroo. It isn’t a bank account, earns no interest, and can’t be transferred or withdrawn as cash.
  • Top up by UPI or card, up to a balance of ₹10,000.
  • Money you add and refunds you receive never expire. Promotional credits are shown separately, are used first and expire on the date shown in the App.
  • If you close your account, we’ll refund your own balance — not promotional credits — to your original payment method or a bank account in your name within 7 business days.

7.2 Offers and promo codes

Every offer comes with terms in the App covering eligibility, the benefit, cities and expiry. Unless it says otherwise, an offer is one per trip and per account, has no cash value and can’t be transferred. We may end an offer at any time, but we’ll honour it for trips already booked. Discounts are funded by Drroo, so your captain still receives the full fare.

7.3 Referrals

Share your code and you’ll both earn promotional credits when your friend completes their first trip. Refer real people only — no self-referrals, duplicate accounts, coupon sites, paid ads or spam. Rewards per account may be capped.

Misuse: If we reasonably believe an offer, referral or wallet has been misused — through fake accounts or trips, device tampering or collusion with a captain — we may reverse rewards, recover their value and suspend the accounts involved. You can appeal through our grievance process.

8. Cancellations, waiting time and refunds

In short: Cancelling is free within 3 minutes of booking, and at any time if your captain is running 5 or more minutes late. After that, a small fee applies. Waiting is free for 3 minutes (5 for cabs). Refunds reach your Drroo Wallet instantly, or your bank in 5–7 business days.

8.1 Free cancellation

You can cancel any booking free of charge:

  • within 3 minutes of booking;
  • at any time, if your captain is running 5 or more minutes later than the arrival time shown when they accepted;
  • for Outstation, until 1 hour before your scheduled pickup; or
  • if your captain asks you to cancel, or the captain or vehicle doesn’t match the App — please don’t get in, and report it through Help.

8.2 Cancellation fees and waiting charges

Outside the free window, the fee below applies. It goes to your captain, for the time and fuel spent reaching you. Waiting time starts when your captain arrives at the pickup point.

Cancellation and waiting charges
ServiceFree to cancelFee after thatWaiting time
Drroo MotoWithin 3 min of booking₹253 min free, then ₹1.5/min
Drroo AutoWithin 3 min of booking₹253 min free, then ₹1.5/min
Drroo Mini, Prime and XLWithin 3 min of booking₹505 min free, then ₹2.5/min
Drroo SendWithin 3 min of booking₹253 min free at pickup and at drop, then ₹1.5/min
Drroo RentalsWithin 3 min of booking₹100Included in your package hours
Drroo OutstationUntil 1 hour before pickup₹2005 min free, then ₹2.5/min

All amounts include taxes, and the late-captain rule applies to every service. If your state’s rules cap cancellation fees lower, we charge the lower amount. Drroo Send bookings can’t be cancelled once the parcel is picked up.

8.3 No-shows and captain cancellations

If your captain has waited the free time plus 5 more minutes and can’t reach you, they may cancel the trip as a no-show, and the cancellation fee applies instead of waiting charges. If a captain cancels on you, you’re never charged, and we’ll look for another captain straight away.

8.4 Disputing a fee

Think a fee was unfair — say, your captain wasn’t heading towards you? Tap Help on the trip. We’ll check the GPS trail and timings, and refund the fee in full if it shouldn’t have been charged.

8.5 Refunds

  • To your Drroo Wallet: instantly, once the refund is approved.
  • To your original payment method (UPI or card): within 5–7 business days of approval.
  • For cash payments: to your Drroo Wallet, or to a UPI ID or bank account in your name.

If a refund hasn’t arrived 7 business days after approval, write to support@drroo.in with your trip ID and we’ll chase it.

9. Your conduct on Drroo

In short: Be kind, follow the law and keep everyone safe. Harassment, violence, discrimination and fraud are never okay, and can get you banned.

Drroo runs on trust — more than 12 million rides of it. When you use Drroo, you agree to:

  • treat captains, recipients, other riders and our team with courtesy and respect;
  • follow the law and these Terms — including the helmet on Moto and seat belts in cabs;
  • never ask a captain to speed, break traffic rules or overload the vehicle;
  • not smoke, drink alcohol or use drugs during a trip, or carry anything illegal or dangerous;
  • not damage or dirty a vehicle, misuse SOS, make false complaints or share a captain’s details outside the App; and
  • pay what you owe for every trip.

Zero tolerance: We don’t tolerate sexual harassment, physical violence, threats, or discrimination based on caste, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, region or language. We may suspend an account immediately while we investigate, and we cooperate fully with the police.

9.1 Content you share

As the IT Rules require, you must not use chats, ratings, reviews, profile photos or messages to our team to share anything that:

  • you have no right to share, or that infringes anyone’s intellectual property;
  • is obscene, pornographic, paedophilic, harmful to children, invasive of anyone’s privacy (including bodily privacy), harassing on the basis of gender, racially or ethnically objectionable, linked to money laundering or gambling, or promotes enmity on grounds of religion or caste;
  • impersonates anyone, or is knowingly false or misleading;
  • threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign states or public order, or incites an offence;
  • contains viruses or other harmful code; or
  • breaks any law in force.

We may remove such content and report it where the law requires, and we’ll remind you of these rules at least once a year, as rule 3(1)(c) of the IT Rules requires.

9.2 Damage and cleaning

If you damage a vehicle or leave it needing more than a quick wipe, we may charge a reasonable repair or cleaning fee, which goes to your captain. We’ll show you the evidence and the amount first, and you can dispute it through Help.

10. Drroo Send: parcels and prohibited items

In short: Send parcels of up to 20 kg across town, delivered the same day. Pack them well, tell us honestly what’s inside, and never send anything on the prohibited list.

10.1 What you can send

Drroo Send is for everyday items within city limits — documents, keys, clothes, books, small electronics and gifts. Every parcel must weigh no more than 20 kg, fit safely on a two-wheeler (as a guide, no side longer than 50 cm), be packed so it can’t leak or break, and be declared honestly in the App, with its contents and approximate value.

10.2 Prohibited items

Never send any of the following:

  • Cash and valuables — cash, cheques, bank cards, gold, silver, jewellery and precious stones;
  • Alcohol of any kind;
  • Drugs — narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and medicines without a valid prescription;
  • Weapons — firearms, ammunition, explosives, knives and replicas;
  • Hazardous goods — anything flammable, corrosive, toxic or radioactive, including fuel, gas cylinders, fireworks and damaged batteries;
  • Perishable goods — raw meat, fish, dairy, fresh flowers and any food that could spoil on the way;
  • Live animals, birds or fish; and
  • Anything illegal — stolen, counterfeit or obscene goods, or anything that needs a licence or permit you don’t have.

Important: If you send a prohibited item, you’re responsible for any loss, damage, fine or legal consequence that follows, and we may suspend your account. Parcels we suspect are illegal may be stopped and handed over to the police.

10.3 Pickup checks and delivery

Your captain may ask to see what’s inside, and may refuse a parcel that’s prohibited, badly packed or not as declared — the Drroo Send cancellation fee in section 8 then applies. Once picked up, a delivery can’t be cancelled. It’s handed over only when the recipient gives the 4-digit delivery PIN; undeliverable parcels come back to you, and the return trip is charged.

10.4 Loss or damage

If a parcel is lost or damaged while in a captain’s hands, report it through Help within 24 hours of the delivery (or expected delivery) time. For valid claims, we’ll compensate you up to the declared value or ₹5,000, whichever is lower. Drroo Send isn’t an insured courier service, so please use one for anything worth more.

11. Rentals and outstation trips

In short: Rentals give you a cab and captain by the hour within your city. Outstation takes you further, one way or return. Packages, extras and the rules on tolls and overnight stays are shown before you book.

11.1 Drroo Rentals

  • Packages start at ₹299 for 2 hours / 20 km and go up to 12 hours, for travel within city limits.
  • Stop as often as you like. Waiting is part of your package, so there’s no separate waiting charge.
  • Extra time and kilometres are charged at the rates on the package card shown before you book.

11.2 Drroo Outstation

  • Fares start at ₹11 per km, for one-way and round trips to more than 500 destinations.
  • The fare card shows whether tolls, state entry taxes and parking are included; if not, you pay them at actuals, and your captain shares the receipts.
  • Round trips are billed for a minimum distance per day, and overnight trips include a night allowance for your captain — both shown on the fare card.
  • Cancellation is free until 1 hour before pickup; after that, the fee is ₹200.
  • For safety, captains take regular rest breaks and won’t drive beyond the hours the law allows.

You’re responsible for planning your stops, for any permits needed to enter restricted areas, and for fines caused by your instructions.

12. Safety features and emergencies

In short: Every trip comes with a verified captain, a Ride PIN, live trip sharing, in-app SOS and accident cover of up to ₹5 lakh.

In an emergency: If you or anyone else is in immediate danger, call 112, India’s emergency number, or tap SOS in the App. Drroo is not an emergency service and can’t replace the police, fire or ambulance services.

12.1 Safety features

  • Verified captains — Aadhaar e-KYC, driving licence, vehicle RC and police verification before a captain’s first trip.
  • Ride PIN — your trip starts only when your captain enters your 4-digit PIN.
  • Live trip sharing — share your trip and live location with people you trust (see how we use location data).
  • In-app SOS — one tap reaches our 24×7 safety desk and lets you dial 112.
  • Masked phone numbers — you and your captain can call each other without seeing real numbers.
  • Night-ride check-ins — on late-night trips, we check in if your trip stops unexpectedly or goes off route.
  • Women captains for Moto — in select cities, women riders can choose a woman captain, where one is available.

12.2 Insurance on every trip

Every trip booked through Drroo is covered by accident insurance from our partner insurer — up to ₹5 lakh per trip for riders and captains — from the moment the Ride PIN starts the trip until it ends. The policy summary in the App explains what’s covered, the exclusions and how to claim. The insurer decides claims; our safety desk will help you file one. This is on top of the motor insurance every vehicle must carry under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.

12.3 Reporting an incident

Report any incident, however small, through Help › Safety or at safety@drroo.in. We’ll review the trip, may suspend those involved while we investigate, and share relevant details with the police or our insurer where needed (see how we share information). Prank SOS alerts and false reports can lead to suspension.

13. Ratings, reviews and feedback

In short: Ratings keep Drroo fair and safe. Rate honestly, review respectfully — and remember, your captain rates you too.

After every trip, you and your captain can rate each other from 1 to 5 stars and add a comment. Captains see your average rating, not who rated what. We’ll feature your review publicly only with your permission, showing just your first name and initial.

  • Rate the trip — not someone’s caste, religion, gender, accent or anything else unrelated to the service.
  • Don’t offer or accept anything for a rating, or post fake reviews. We may remove reviews that break these Terms or the IT Rules.
  • Consistently low ratings can mean refresher training or suspension for captains, and limited access to some services for riders.

You keep ownership of reviews you post, but give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use and display them to run and promote Drroo. And if you send us ideas, we may use them freely.

14. Captains are independent

In short: Captains run their own businesses. We verify every one of them, and they keep 100% of their fares in return for a small daily pass — but they aren’t Drroo employees.

Captains are independent service providers who choose when, where and how often they use Drroo. Nothing in these Terms makes a captain Drroo’s employee, agent or partner, or makes Drroo the provider of the ride or delivery itself.

14.1 How captains are verified

Every captain completes Aadhaar e-KYC and provides a valid driving licence, vehicle registration certificate (RC), motor insurance and police verification — usually checked within 24–48 hours — and completes safety training before their first trip. We re-check documents regularly and suspend captains whose documents lapse or whose conduct falls short.

14.2 Zero commission

Drroo takes no commission from fares. Instead, captains pay a flat daily pass — ₹29 for Moto, ₹39 for Auto and ₹99 for cabs — only on the days they go online, and keep 100% of their fares and tips, paid out daily to their bank account or UPI. That’s more than the minimum share the Motor Vehicle Aggregator Guidelines require. Want to drive? Write to captains@drroo.in or see Drive with Drroo.

14.3 Their responsibilities — and ours

Captains are responsible for their own licences, permits, vehicle fitness and insurance, traffic compliance and taxes, as the Drroo Captain Terms set out. Drroo stays responsible for running the Platform with reasonable care and for our commitments in these Terms — verification, safety tools, support, refunds and grievances. If something goes wrong on a trip, come to us first.

15. Our content and intellectual property

In short: The Drroo name, the little orange car and everything in our apps belong to us. You get a personal licence to use the App — please don’t copy, scrape or reverse-engineer it.

The Platform — including the Drroo name, the “D” vehicle logo, the tagline “Connecting Every Move”, our illustrations, software, text and designs — is owned by or licensed to Drroo, and protected by the Copyright Act, 1957, the Trade Marks Act, 1999 and other laws. We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the App for your own non-commercial use of the Services. You must not:

  • copy, modify, distribute, sell or sub-license any part of the Platform;
  • reverse-engineer or decompile the App, except where the law expressly allows it;
  • use bots, scrapers or other automated tools to access the Platform or collect data, such as fares or captain details;
  • interfere with the Platform’s security, or create fake accounts or bookings; or
  • use our name, logo or other brand assets without our written permission.

16. Third-party services

In short: Some parts of Drroo rely on partners — banks, payment providers, maps, our insurer and the app stores. Their own terms apply to what they provide.

To run Drroo, we work with banks and RBI-authorised payment aggregators, mapping and location providers, our partner insurer, telecom and messaging providers for OTPs and masked calls, and Google Play and the Apple App Store. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to their services. We choose our partners carefully, but we aren’t responsible for their content, products or failures outside our reasonable control. We share only the data each partner needs (see how we share information), and our use of cookies is covered by our Cookie Policy.

These Terms are between you and Drroo, not the app store you downloaded the App from. Links to other websites aren’t endorsements.

17. Disclaimers

In short: We work hard to keep Drroo fast and reliable, but we can’t promise it will always be available or error-free, or that a captain will always be nearby.

To the extent the law allows, the Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We don’t promise that:

  • the Platform will always be available, uninterrupted, secure or free of errors;
  • a captain will always be available, accept your booking or arrive by the estimated time; or
  • maps, routes, distances and arrival times will always be accurate.

Pickup and arrival times are estimates. Upfront fares are not — section 6 explains when they can change. Nothing in this section affects your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, or our responsibility for any deficiency in our own service.

18. Limitation of liability

In short: If we get something wrong, we’ll put it right — but there are limits to what we’re responsible for. Those limits never apply to anything the law doesn’t allow us to limit.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Drroo is not liable for:

  • indirect or consequential losses — such as a missed flight, exam or meeting, or lost profit or opportunity — arising from your use of the Platform;
  • the acts of captains, recipients or other users, except to the extent caused by our own negligence or breach of these Terms; or
  • delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as floods, cyclones, strikes, network outages or government orders.

Our total liability for all claims relating to a trip or delivery is limited to the higher of its fare and ₹5,000.

What these limits don’t cover: Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for amounts payable under the trip insurance in section 12, or for anything else that can’t be limited under Indian law — including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

A friendly tip: catching a flight or sitting an exam? Book early and leave a buffer — traffic doesn’t take instructions from anyone. Not even us.

19. Indemnity

In short: If you break these Terms or the law and that leads to a claim or loss for Drroo, you’ll cover the cost — but only for what you actually caused.

You agree to indemnify Drroo, its affiliates, and their directors, officers and employees against any claims, losses, penalties and reasonable legal costs arising from:

  • your breach of these Terms, of any law, or of the rights of a captain or anyone else;
  • any prohibited item you send through Drroo Send, or any false declaration about a parcel; or
  • content you share on the Platform.

This applies only to the extent you caused the loss, not where our own negligence or breach did. We’ll tell you promptly about any such claim.

20. Suspension and termination

In short: You can close your account whenever you like. We may suspend or close it if you break these Terms, put others at risk or the law requires it — and we’ll tell you why, with a way to appeal.

20.1 Closing your account

Delete your account at any time from the Privacy Centre in the App, or by writing to support@drroo.in, after clearing any dues. It’s deactivated straight away, with 30 days to change your mind, and we’ll refund your Drroo Wallet balance as explained in section 7. What we must keep afterwards, and for how long, is set out in our Privacy Policy.

20.2 When we may suspend or close your account

We may suspend, restrict or close your account if you breach these Terms (especially section 9 or section 10), if we reasonably suspect fraud or misuse of offers or payments, if your behaviour puts others at risk, if dues stay unpaid after reminders, or if a court or authority requires it.

Where we can, we’ll warn you first and give you a chance to respond. In serious cases, such as violence or harassment, we may suspend your account immediately while we investigate. Unless the law prevents us, we’ll tell you why, and you can appeal to grievance@aivida.in.

20.3 After termination

Obligations that arose before closure, such as fares owed or refunds due, survive — as do the sections on payments, intellectual property, liability, indemnity and disputes.

21. Governing law and disputes

In short: These Terms are governed by Indian law. Let’s try to fix any problem together first. If we can’t, disputes go to arbitration in Chennai — but you can always approach a consumer commission instead.

21.1 Governing law and first steps

These Terms, and any dispute connected with them or your use of Drroo, are governed by the laws of India. Most problems are solved quickly through Help or our grievance process in section 22, so please give us 30 days to put things right before starting formal proceedings.

21.2 Arbitration and courts

If a dispute isn’t resolved within those 30 days, either of us may refer it to arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, before a sole arbitrator appointed by mutual agreement or, failing that, in accordance with the Act. The seat and venue will be Chennai, the language English, and hearings may be online. The award will be final and binding, and each side will bear its own costs unless the arbitrator decides otherwise. Subject to this, the courts at Chennai, Tamil Nadu have exclusive jurisdiction, including for interim relief.

Your consumer rights are protected: Nothing in this section stops you from complaining to a District, State or National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 — including where you live or work, or online through e-Daakhil — or from calling the National Consumer Helpline on 1915. Those rights are yours by law.

22. Grievance redressal

In short: If something isn’t right, tell us. Our Grievance Officer acknowledges every complaint within 48 hours and resolves it within 30 days.

We’d always rather fix a problem than lose a rider, and most issues are sorted fastest through Help in the App or at support@drroo.in. If you’re not happy with the answer — or your complaint is about these Terms, content on the Platform or an account suspension — write to our Grievance Officer, appointed under the IT Rules and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020.

22.1 How to raise a grievance

  1. Write to us with your name, registered mobile number and, if relevant, the trip ID — but never your OTP or PIN.
  2. Describe the issue, and attach any screenshots, receipts or photos that help.
  3. We’ll acknowledge your complaint within 48 hours, with a ticket number to track it.
  4. We’ll investigate and send you our decision, with reasons, within 30 days of receiving your complaint.

These timelines follow the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 and the IT Rules. Where the IT Rules set a shorter timeline for a particular kind of complaint — such as one about unlawful content on the Platform — we’ll meet that shorter timeline.

22.2 If you’re still not satisfied

  • Call the National Consumer Helpline on 1915, or file a complaint with the appropriate Consumer Commission (see section 21).
  • If your complaint was about content handled under the IT Rules, you can appeal to the Grievance Appellate Committee within 30 days of our decision.
  • For concerns about your personal data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, see your rights and how to reach us in our Privacy Policy.

22.3 Requests from authorities

Government and law enforcement agencies can send requests to our nodal contact at legal@drroo.in.

23. Changes to these Terms

In short: We’ll update these Terms as Drroo grows. If a change matters, we’ll tell you in advance — in the App or by email.

We may update these Terms as Drroo grows or the law changes, and we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page when we do.

  • For material changes — such as to fees, cancellation rules or how disputes are resolved — we’ll notify you in the App or by email at least 15 days before they take effect.
  • Changes required by law, or that are purely in your favour, may take effect immediately.
  • No change applies to a trip booked before it took effect.

If you keep using Drroo after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you don’t agree, you can close your account at any time (see section 20).

23.1 Version history

  • 3 November 2026 — Clarified waiting time for Drroo Send (section 8) and parcel checks at pickup (section 10). No change to fares or fees.
  • 1 November 2026 — These Terms take effect.
